Yahoo! Mail is SLOW

Okay, what is going on with Yahoo! Mail the past couple of days? Yahoo! Mail is where I get my main email, and I use it regularly to the tune of checking it 5 times/hour. Zero (yes, that's 0) complaints over the past year, until yesterday and today.

Yesterday I noticed that when deleting emails they didn't go away. Later I realized that they did get deleted but only disappeared after a refresh or two. Also, last night my wife asked me why I didn't respond to any of her emails. The weird thing is we both use Yahoo! for email and she was receiving my mails. I finally received hers about 10 hours after they were sent!

Same problem today, so I decided to do a little testing. I have a domain name account that forwards my emails to yahoo. So first I sent an email from Yahoo to both my domain name account and directly back to yahoo. They didn't show up for at least an hour, and they both were received at nearly the same time. So my guess was either the outbound Yahoo or the retrieval of new messages from the server (since my domain account showed up at the same time).

Then I see that messages that I sent to my wife are being received. We must be on two different server clusters or something, which is really odd considering we work less than a mile apart.

So what is going on? Where is my gmail account when I need one? Help me google!!!!

  • Yahoo mail is slow for me too.

I have an AOL account and it sends my mail in a matter of seconds to any node.

Yahoo has been delivering in 2 - 3 hours.

IF yahoo wants bread for faster speed then say so...but poor service is no way to attract customers even if the serivce is FREE...................
